While planning your diet make sure that you cut back on refined carbs like cookies, pasta, chips, etc. These yummy culprits have a major role to play in contributing weight gain and increasing fat storage in the body [1]. These carbs are heavily processed with almost zero nutritional values as all their beneficial nutrients are stripped. Increase the intake of fiber. Fiber helps you feel fuller for longer keeping your cravings and appetite under control [2].   

  1. Keep Moving 

Often, excess facial fat is the result of increased body fat. Therefore, working out will not only help you burn fat and get a slimmer body, but will also help you get a toned face. Exercise regularly and ensure to include cardio, aerobics and other physical activities that increase your heart rate, to your routine [3]. Such activities have shown to be extremely effective when it comes to burning fats and maintaining a healthy weight.

Keeping your body hydrated is essential for overall health, you must have heard this a lot. However, there’s one more benefit that sipping up more water provides – weight loss. Several studies have shown that there is a strong correlation between drinking water and shedding pounds [4]. Alcohol is an inflammatory substance that can cause bloating, gas, fluid retention and inflammation, especially when mixed with sugary ingredients and carbonation. All this can cause your face to swell up. Alcohol also causes dehydration, which forces the body to retain fluids and in turn leads to puffiness, especially in the face [5].

  1. Sayonara, Salt 

Excess sodium consumption leads to fluid retention which may lead to swelling and puffiness in the face. Therefore, reducing the intake of salt can help you make your face look slimmer. The simplest way of cutting down sodium is eating fewer processed foods. So, stop munching on chips and relying on frozen foods for dinner, to get rid of all that face fat. 

Facial Exercises To Lose Face Fat

How to burn face fat? Here’s how! These simple facial exercises will help you get rid of the excess, annoying fat accumulated on your face. 

  1. The Duck Face

Pucker up your lips ensuring that you push your lips outward and tense your face. Open and close your mouth to get those muscles working. Keep doing the exercise for 10 to 15 minutes. 

  1. The Half Cringe

This is pretty self-explanatory. Imagine something really cringeworthy and cringe. Push your upper lip towards your right or left side and the lower lip in the opposite direction. If you feel a strain on your neck, you’re doing it right!

  1. The Fish Face

Suck in your cheeks. Pucker your lips and hold it for 10 seconds. For a little extra stretch, tilt your head back and imagine reaching to the ceiling with your chin. 

  1. Side Kisses

Pucker your lips as much as you can and move them from right to left. Try going as far to the sides as you can. 

  1. Chin Ups

If you didn’t know, your chin can do push-ups too. Push your lower lip on top of your upper lip and lift your chin as high as you can. Keep repeating it 10-15 times.
